Claude is the most wonderful dog in every way.
He is described by everyone that meets him as an absolute stunner in looks and a temperament like a gentle giant.
He has had toddlers and children climb all over him and he is an absolute gem at playing ball with them. Being so careful and gentle - I have never yet seen him even accidently knock over a child in play.
He is a calm, grounded, gentle, loving and friendly to everyone.
He loves visitors and is always eager to please. You only ever need to tell him once and he learns.
Claude is the dog that you can tell to go and get a certain toy and he will look everywhere till he finds it then brings it to you. If we have left for a walk on the farm and have left a ball at home we can tell him at the other end of the farm to go find it and he will race back to the house.
He is very vocal in a way that it is as if he is trying to talk to you, but it's not at all barking.
A couple of his puppies, especially Cooper, have inherited the same thing. See Cooper on Facebook.
Claude especially loves coming when we rear the 4 day old calves. Soon as he sees the warm milk buckets he's straight there licking their little faces to clean off all the milk. You can see some photos of this on our gallery page.
Claude loves his puppies, washes them and lets them climb all over him. Unlike a lot of entire male dogs he is not a threat in any way to Heidi and Delilah when they have puppies.
I do not believe there is a mean bone in Claude.
To us he is priceless in every way and a much loved member of our family.
